Study, development and testing of components for the railway sector

Fire resistant materials are classified with fire reaction and toxicity tests. Formac, at its in-house analysis laboratory, is equipped to perform flammability, flame propagation and smoke opacity tests. All these checks make it possible to evaluate if a polymer can ignite and how long it takes the flame to propagate and the danger of the released fumes.
The railway sector is one of the most attentive markets to these specifications which were regulated in 2013 with European standard EN 45545, which unified the various national laws of the railway sector. Formac offers a series of PA6 and PA66 compounds characterised by the highest level of mechanical and self-extinguishing properties in compliance with the most recent European regulations

Field of application: Self-extinguishing Polymers
