Thermoplastic polymers for automotive
Formac Srl designs, engineers and produces an articulated range of thermoplastic compounds intended for the world of transportation, for people and goods, with a special focus on the automotive sector. Every stage of design and development is conducted at our facility with maximum guarantee of customer privacy and process monitoring.
The most common specifications that our compounds comply with are:
- reduced weight
- fire and heat resistant
- resistant to chemicals
- excellent aesthetics
The areas of application vary from mechanical components to special under-hood parts, to vehicle interior.
The most commonly used polymer bases are various grades of FORMAMID such as PA6, PA6.6 and PA4.6; FORMTER made with PBT, up to the range of PPS with added mixed fillers. The FORMAC thermoplastic polymers for automotive guarantee superior performance such as easy injection for large size moulding, excellent aesthetics and anti-scratch treatment, continuous resistance to high temperatures, resistance to contact with oils. All compounds for automotive are customisable and can be coloured on single request.
Notoriously the automotive sector is one of the industries that is most inclined towards constant technological development, a common point with FORMAC which has always pursued research & development of innovative materials such as the new range of compounds intended for electric mobility that are characterised by excellent properties of conductivity and shielding and new granules for plastic moulding of the FORMAGREEN line that use fibres of natural origin instead of synthetic fibres. FORMAC’s capacity to produce highly complex compounds, also in limited batches, finds its natural intended use in automotive motorsports.
