Conception, development and testing of new material for the realisation of packaging for the fashion sector
The world of Fashion is par definition capable of anticipating trends and updating its production processes in compliance with the most recent regulations. The use of thermoplastic polymers therefore finds a new target use if able to certify the requirements of sustainability, reduction of environmental impact and origin from renewable and post-consumer sources. Formac has engineered a range of post-consumer polyolefin-based compounds that are modified to make them more easily processable in production, to reduce the emission of bothersome odours, to make them colourable and to avoid the deposition of dust. Extrusion applications would be clothing packaging bags for leading fashion houses; applications for moulding would be rigid packaging. The use of the same technology can also be extended to other sectors such as for example the shrink wrapping of fruit and vegetables and bags for couriers or injection moulding of cutlery and coffee capsules.
