Study, development and testing of new polymer for the realisation of automotive components

The aim of the project is to create a plastic material capable of withstanding the high temperatures that develop under the hood of cars that mount engines with increasingly higher powers and therefore heat up more and more.
The main material commonly used for this application is PA 66 which has a continuous operating temperature of 150°. Formac has devised a compoundthat increases the thermal performance of the plastic material up to a temperatureof 240° in continuous operation.
Field of application: Automotive
Material: High Temperature PA66
Purpose: Study, development and testing of new polymer for the realisation of automotive components
Success factors: Resistant to high temperatures
