Conception, development and testing of new material for the realisation of components for pressure washers manufactured through technopolymer injection moulding
The end user came to Formac because they were having aesthetic issues relative to fibre feed, difficulty in evenly filling cavities (cold feed) and fragility of the manufactured item. Formac technicians identified the solution by modifying the mechanical and rheological properties of the polymer. The solution to the problems set forth by our customer was achieved thanks to the choice of specific glass fibres that are characterised by special length and diameter, for the use of non-standard viscosity polymer and lastly, thanks to the identification of a specific bonding agent for fibre glass/polyamide that made it possible to increase the mechanical properties. The experience gained by Formac can be replicated in all of those cases where technopolymer compounds are required, which are characterised by excellent rheological, mechanical and colorimetricproperties.
